700 ACN ABN

This document highlights the improvements around ACN / ABN numbers, available starting v 2.19.43.700

ACN

ACN number is now available at the payee level and will be updated by the ABN Check batch, which runs by default at 11PM on the second Friday of every month:

The ACN number is also available as read-only in the Payee entity for external references.

ABN

The following new features are available for ABNs in the following forms:

Eftsure onboarding invitation

Vendor collaboration registration wizard

All Vendors, All Customers, Purchase orders and Sales Orders

Create customer

Format checker

[The items below only applies to parties with an Australian address or no address at all, for Australian legal entities only.]

Before specifying ABN, the ABN control will be empty as per previous versions:

Once an ABN number has been found/entered, the ABN control will display ABN and GST icons directly within the ABN control:

This control allows to search / lookup ABNs by name or by number:

When looking up ABN by number, both ABN and GST status icons will be displayed in the grid (not available in search by name due to ABN lookup restrictions)

Search as you type

This control will also search for ABN after each keystroke to make the search more convenient for the end-user.

For example, start typing Pin for business name Pinpin:

Then Pinp:

Invalid ABN

When an invalid ABN number is entered by the user, the following message will highlight the user choices:

ABN Number creation:

Contrary to standard product, the ABN number will be created into the related table on lookup return, eliminating the need for a user to create ABN number before assigning it to a party.

The following annoying warning message will no longer apply!

It will be replaced by the following confirmation dialog:

Vendor collaboration:

This feature is an opt-in feature that can be enabled in the Eftsure parameters > Vendor Collaboration form:

Caching

ABN requests will be cached for up to 24 hours in order to speed-up user responsiveness.

ABN cache can be reset from Eftsure parameters \ ABR \ Clear cache:

View Details / JumpRef

The View Details or JumpRef action on these new fields will take the user directly to browse the ABR site for the currently entered ABN:

This navigation is also triggered by clicking the ABN fields when non editable.

Configuration

To configure these new features, go to Eftsure parameters > ABR:

Create customer

The create customer form has been modified to maximise the use of the new ABN lookup.

The ABN control has been moved before the customer name control, in order to allow the end user to enter ABN first. Upon ABN validation, the name of the customer will be defaulted from the information requested from the ABR.

Icons shortcut

The Eftsure UI icons available in most forms have been extended to provide additional shortcuts:

Clicking on the first 2 icons Screenshot (Payment limit, verification status) will open a new browser page on the matching supplier.

Clicking on the next 2 icons Screenshot (ABN status, GST status) will open a new browser page on the matching ABR page.

Limitations

On August 2023, ABN Team introduced at throttling limit of 2 'Name Searches' per second, which relates to 2 ABN lookups opened per second, which shouldn't cause issues for fair use of the service. This doesn't affect 'Number searches' running during batches to validate data.

Announcement of fair use below:
